ERW or LSAW line pipe - which process should my project use?
ERW covers 1/2 to 24 inch diameters in thinner walls and is the economical choice for distribution lines and lower-pressure service. LSAW, available up to 48 inch, suits higher pressures, thicker walls and onshore or offshore trunk lines. Both are supplied in PSL1 and PSL2 from Grade B to X70 with hydrostatic testing and eddy-current or ultrasonic inspection.
What end preparations and coatings do you supply for API 5L pipe?
Plain, beveled (30 degree) and threaded ends are available, with bare, 3PE, FBE or black paint finishes applied to the project specification. Coated pipe is holiday-tested before loading, and the shipment includes the MTC together with the coating certificate.
Can API 5L pipe be supplied for sour service (H2S)?
Yes. Sour-service material is produced to PSL2 with hardness control, low sulphur content and NACE MR0175-compliant testing. Please state the H2S partial pressure in your inquiry so the correct steelmaking and testing route is applied.
